Vaccinations
We check all dogs to ensure that they are current and up to date with their vaccinations prior to boarding or training.
What vaccinations are required for my dog?
Rabies
NEED
Dogs should first be vaccinated against rabies between 4 and 6 months of age. Booster shots should then be administered one year from this date, and then in accordance with local laws for Texas.

DHLPP
NEEED
This vaccine that includes viral diseases canine distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza and bacterial infection leptospirosis. Distemper is an airborne virus that is also transmitted through bodily fluids and attacks the intestinal and respiratory tracts, as well as the central nervous system. DHLPP is required as a puppy series beginning at 6-8 weeks old, boosted twice at 3-week intervals and again a year later.
Bordetella
NEED
The bordetella vaccine is given to both puppies and adult dogs. This vaccine helps to ward off a frequent illness that is known as kennel cough. Kennel cough is easily spread from one dog to another and is highly contagious. In healthy adult dogs, the condition is typically not life. 7 days prior to arriving if possible or last 6 months. threatening.
Heartworm
NEED
Heartworm preventives come in different forms, including monthly chewable pills and topical “spot on” medications, as well as an injectable medication that is given every 6 or 12 months. Heartworm preventives are available only by prescription from veterinarians. They must be negative for heartworm test.

Fleas & Ticks
NEED
For fleas and tick to survive, they must bite their host and then feed on the blood. These bites can directly impact your dog's health. The saliva from a flea bite can cause severe allergies, dermatitis, anemia, itching, and infection. Tick bites can cause infection, abscesses, paralysis, and even death. They must be free of fleas and ticks. We will inspect them and if found, they can be deny at the door.
Canine Influenza (CIV)
RECOMMEND
There is now a single vaccination to prevent both the H3N2 and H3N8 strains of the virus. The vaccination requires a booster shot two weeks after the initial vaccine. Vaccines take 3-4 weeks to provide immunity. After DEC 2022, DFW saw a dog pandemic and we highly encourage families to see if your vet offers the dog flu vaccinations.

Canine Influenza (CIV)
RECOMMEND
Lyme disease is caused by the spirochete (type of bacterium), Borrelia burgdorferi. It is transmitted to dogs through the bite of an infected tick. Once in the bloodstream, the Lyme disease organism is carried to many parts of the body and is likely to localize in joints or kidneys.
